Trevor Geoghegan, Artist

Trevor Geoghegan is an artist living and working in Blessington, Co. Wicklow. Whether working on a commissioned piece or projects of his own choosing, he paints everyday.

I have known Tevor since I moved to Blessington ten years ago and this series of photographs has been promised and planned for about the same length of time. I was therefore delighted when we finally got together in his studio.

I have met few men who so fully live and breath their craft on a daily basis.

Martin Boyle, Netmaker.

I recently met Martin Boyle, whose hands make a netting needle move like a rapier.
On Ros na gCurrach pier, Maghery, near Dungloe Co.Donegal, Martin kindly showed me some examples of his craft. Martin learned his skills from his father and later at Fishery College. For many years, he has worked at hanging gill nets, for white fish and salmon. He also made lobster pots. From talking with Martin about the work he has done, these images can only hint at his skills.

Many Thanks Martin
